Performance-based optimization of energy dissipation devices in structures necessitates massive and repetitive dynamic analyses. In the endurance time method known as a rather fast analysis procedure, are subjected to intensifying excitations their response at multiple intensity levels is estimated by minimal number So, this significantly reduces computational endeavors. paper, employed determine optimal placement viscous dampers weak structure achieve desired performance various hazard levels, simultaneously. The damper one systems which can dissipate large amount seismic input structure. To end, hysteretic compatible excitation functions used validity results investigated comparing them with obtained from suite ground motions. optimize dampers, genetic algorithm used. damping coefficients considered design variables procedure determined such way that sum has minimum value. behavior before after rehabilitation also using nonlinear history procedures different levels.
